Die Organspende eines Lebenden als supererogatorische Handlung betrachtet
Living organ donation, which is at present experiencing a renaissance, is usually discussed from a normative-ethical perspective with respect to the question whether it is justifiable at all. In contrast this article deals with the supererogant nature of the act from an individual ethical perspective. To satisfy the criteria of supererogation it is not sufficient that the donor does more than his moral duty, as he puts up, in favour of another person, with considerable medicals risks and emotional strain to which the recipient cannot lay moral claim. Additional conditions must be met such as the voluntary nature of the decision and the altruistic motivation of the donor.
