Verwirrtheit, eine zerebrale Manifestation des Rechts auf Nicht-Wissen?
We report on the case of a 79-year-old patient in whom multilocular meningiomas were detected after she had suffered three syncopal attacks. Shortly before neurosurgery, she developed an ischemic cerebral infarct and became confused. Further diagnosis revealed mixed vascular and neurodegenerative dementia. Surgical intervention was cancelled because of her multi-morbidity and unfavourable prognosis. The case raises the question whether and, if so, how states of confusion and other psychoses should be treated at all, if that way the patient would be forced to face an unavoidable and adverse disease, without being in a position to exercise the right to know or not to know.Zum vollständigen Artikel | Artikel bestellen
